A method for transmission of data is presented, wherein a variant of pulse position modulation is employed, which allows on the one hand more than one pulse position to be active in every time period, thus increasing the number of possible combinations and consequently the number of bits that can be coded per time period, and on the other hand a reduction of the time period for a given number of pulse positions, by allowing a high degree of overlapping between the pulses in adjacent pulse position due to the introduction of a phase shift between them which serves as a parameter to better distinguish between two high overlapping pulses with reduced detection margin. An embodiment of the method presented considers the possibility of limiting the pulse positions that can be active simultaneously to non-adjacent positions with a distance that can be a function of the aforementioned phase difference.
Cette invention concerne un procédé de transmission de données faisant appel à une variante de modulation de position d'impulsion permettant d'une part à plus d'une position d'impulsion d'être active dans chaque intervalle de temps, ce qui accroît le nombre de combinaisons possibles et par conséquent le nombre de bits pouvant être codés par intervalle de temps, et d'autre part une réduction de l'intervalle de temps pour un nombre donné de positions d'impulsion. Pour ce faire, ce procédé permet un haut degré de chevauchement des impulsions dans des positions d'impulsion adjacentes du fait de l'introduction d'un décalage de phase servant de paramètre permettant de mieux faire la distinction entre deux impulsions de chevauchement élevé avec une marge de détection réduite. Un mode de réalisation de ce procédé consiste à limiter les positions d'impulsion pouvant être actives simultanément à des positions non adjacentes séparées d'une distance pouvant être une fonction du décalage de phase susmentionné.
