A disposable absorbent pants-type undergarment in the form of a diaper comprises short pants and a liquid- absorbent pad attached to an inner side of the short pants. The short pants comprise a front waist section, a rear waist section and a crotch section interposed therebetween and have a waist-opening and a pair of leg-openings. The short pants are formed with first elastically stretchable regions circumferentially extending in the proximity of a waist-opening and second elastically stretchable regions circumferentially extending parallel to the first elastically stretchable regions immediately above a crotch section which is interposed between the front and rear waist sections and is longitudinally stretchable.
