Abstract of the Disclosure A TREAD FOR A TIRE A directional tread 12 for a tire 10 is disclosed. The tread 12 has a plurality of block elements 50 having leading and trailing edge surfaces 30, 40 relative to the direction of forward travel. The block elements 50 adjacent the lateral edges 14, 16 of the tread 12 have a trailing edge surface 40 that has a negative angular orientation relative to the radial direction.
