A method for fracturing and propping a thick and/or non-homogeneous fracture interval (12) of a subterranean formation which is traversed by a wellbore(11). A workstring (20) is lowered into the wellbore and a fracturing fluid (30) is flowed into one end of the fracture interval annulus (33a) (i,e., that portion of the well annulus (33) which lies adjacent the fracture interval) to initiate a fracture. The flow of fracturing fluid is ceased and a slurry (31) containing proppants is flowed into said one end of the fracture interval annulus. During flow of fracturing fluid and slurry into said one end of the annulus, both are delivered through alternate flowpaths (24) to different levels within said fracture interval. Alternate slugs of fracturing fluid and slurry is continued through the same end of the annulus until all of the levels or zones within the fracture interval have been fractured and propped and in some instances, also gravel-packed.
L'invention concerne un procédé pour fracturer et pour soutenir une section de fracture large et/ou non homogène (12) d'une formation souterraine à travers laquelle passe un puits de forage (11). Un train de tiges de forage (20) est abaissé dans le puits de forage et un fluide de fracturation (30) est amené par une extrémité de l'espace de fracture annulaire (33a), c'est-à-dire par la partie annulaire (33) du puits qui jouxte la section de fracture, pour amorcer une fracture. On interrompt ensuite l'alimentation en fluide de fracturation et on introduit une boue (31) contenant des agents de soutènement par ladite extrémité de l'espace annulaire. Le fluide de fracturation et la boue sont introduits par l'extrémité de l'espace annulaire suivant des trajets alternés (24) vers différents niveaux de ladite section de fracture. Des bouchons alternés de fluide de fracturation et de boue sont envoyés par la même extrémité de l'espace annulaire jusqu'à ce que tous les niveaux ou toutes les zones dans la section de fracture soient fracturés et soutenus, et dans certains cas, dotés de filtres à graviers.
