For many years, industrialized nations have been using biotechnology for both agriculture and animal husbandry. Embryo transfer in cattle becomes one of the most exciting and progressive procedures available to today's animal producers. With conventional production, the average cow produces six to seven calves in her lifetime. Embryo transfer can increase her reproduction efficiency to numerous calves per year, thin increasing the selection opportunities many times. Along with artificial insemination, embryo transfer offers progressive producers fascinating genetic opportunities. Bovine are one of the major food sources for human and the productivity rate of domestic animals is a very influential factor for many developing countries. In countries such as the United States, Canada, and Australia, embryo transfer is a popular and standard technique for the improvement of bovine breeds. All the current commercial available frozen cattle embryos are produced by method combines techniques include artificial insemination (AI), pregnancy detection, embryo flushing and embryo freezing. The idea behind this technique is to obtain a pregnant cow first, by means of AI. Then embryo inside the cow is "flushed"" out by buffer solution. Microscope is used to locate the embryo from the flushed solution. And the final stage is to freeze the embryo for storage or to perform embryo transfer. IND Lifetech Inc. has a unique method to mass product low-cost embryo for commercial purpose.
