A storage rack with pivoting shelves aided by gas springs, for use within a vehicle. Shelves are attached by pivot points to upright posts so as to be able to be rotated downward into a horizontal position, or upward into a vertical position. A gas spring joins the side of each shelf to the said shelf's supporting post, in relation to the pivot point of the shelf, so as to cause the gas spring to urge the shelf to rotate.
