The present invention relates to a protective peptide of Streptococcus pneumoniae (S. pneumoniae) or a functional-ly active variant of the protective peptide; a composition comprising at least two protective peptides or functionally active variants thereof; a composition comprising at least two proteins selected from the group consisting of i) a first type of protective peptide or functionally active variant thereof, ii) a second type of protective peptide or functionally active variant thereof and iii) a support-ive peptide or a functionally active variant thereof; one or more nucleic acid(s) encoding the protective peptide or functionally ac-tive variant thereof or the at least two proteins comprised in the composition; a pharmaceutical composition comprising the pro-tective peptide or functionally active variant thereof, the composition, or the nucleic acid(s); a method of producing an antibody using the protective peptide or functionally active variant thereof or the composition; the use of the protective peptide or function-ally active variant thereof and/or the composition and/or the nucleic acid(s) for the manufacture of a medicament for the immu-nization or treatment of a subject; a method of diagnosing a S. pneumoniae infection using the protective peptide or a functionally active variant thereof, the composition or a primer and/or probe specific for the nucleic acid(s); a method for identifying a ligand capable of binding to a protective peptide or functionally active variant thereof; and the use of a protective peptide or functionally active variant thereof for the isolation and/or purification and/or identification of an interaction partner of the peptide.
Cette invention concerne un peptide protecteur luttant contre Streptococcus pneumoniae (S. pneumoniae) ou un variant du peptide protecteur fonctionnellement actif; une composition comprenant au moins deux peptides protecteurs ou deux de ses variants fonctionnellement actifs; une composition comprenant au moins deux protéines choisies dans le groupe constitué par i) un premier type de peptide protecteur ou son variant fonctionnellement actif, ii) un second type de peptide protecteur ou son variant fonctionnellement actif et iii) un peptide support ou son variant fonctionnellement actif; un ou plusieurs acides nucléiques codant le peptide protecteur ou son variant fonctionnellement actif ou les deux protéines incluses dans la composition; une composition pharmaceutique comprenant le peptide protecteur ou son variant fonctionnellement actif, la composition, ou lacide nucléique/les acides nucléiques; une méthode permettant de produire un anticorps utilisant le peptide protecteur ou son variant fonctionnellement actif ou la composition; lutilisation du peptide protecteur ou de son variant fonctionnellement actif et/ou la composition et/ou le ou les acides nucléiques dans la fabrication dun médicament destiné à limmunisation ou au traitement dun sujet; une méthode permettant de diagnostiquer une infection à S. pneumoniae utilisant le peptide protecteur ou son variant fonctionnellement actif, la composition ou une amorce et/ou sonde spécifique de lacide nucléique/des acides nucléiques; une méthode permettant didentifier un ligand capable de se fixer à un peptide protecteur ou son variant fonctionnellement actif; et lutilisation dun peptide protecteur ou son variant fonctionnellement actif pour isoler et/ou purifier et/ou identifier un partenaire dinteraction du peptide.
