ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improvement in a hanger block of a cable hanger of the type used to suspend objects, consisting of a first hanger block component and a second hanger block component which mate to form a composite hanger block. The first hanger block component has a first side and a second side. The first side has a semi-circular groove with a first portion of a first diameter and a second portion of a second diameter. The second hanger block component has a first side and a second side. The first side has a semi-circular groove with a first portion of a first diameter and a second portion of a second diameter. The first side of the first hanger block component and the first side of the second hanger block component mate to form a composite hanger block thereby aligning the respective semi- circular grooves form a generally circular composite bore. The bore has a first portion of a first diameter and a second portion of a second diameter. The first portion is large enough to accommodate a ferrule. The second portion is smaller than the first portion such that the second portion engages the ferrule to prevent a cable attached to the ferrule from being pulled from the composite hanger block.
