ABSTRACT A rotary pulp screening device having a high efficiency. The screening device includes a rotor having an upper paraboloidal segment surrounded by a cylindrical baffle to split the incoming flow of pulp stock in two unequal parts. The predominant part flows through a first passage defined between the baffle and the paraboloidal segment of the rotor and is discharged against the screen at an intermediate axial location. The smallest part of the incoming flow passes between the baffle and the screen and merges with the main stream of the flow when reaching the outlet of the first passage.
