To make a shaped article, a decorative paper whose cotton linters content is at least 10 wt% and can be as high as 100 wt% of the total fiber content in the paper is impregnated with a cross-linkable aminoplastic resin, applied on a carrier of wood-based material and formed to a three-dimensional structure under pressure and at elevated temperature while the resin undergoes cross-linking.

Selon l'invention, pour produire une pièce moulée, un papier décor comportant une proportion de linters de coton présentant au moins 10 % en poids et jusqu'à 100 % en poids de la proportion globale de fibres dans le papier est imprégné de résine aminoplastique réticulable. Ledit papier décor est ensuite appliqué sur un support en matériau dérivé du bois et est déformé en trois dimensions par réticulation de la résine, sous pression et à température élevée.
