The present invention is dealing with a drug delivery system, preferably in a ring-shaped form suitable for vaginal administration, for the simultaneous release of a progestogenic steroid compound and an estrogenic steroid compound in a fixed physiological ratio over a prolonged period of time. The drug delivery system comprises at least one compartment comprising a thermoplastic polymer core containing the mixture of the progestogenic and estrogenic compounds and a thermoplastic polymer skin, the progestogenic compound being initially dissolved in the polymer core material in a relatively low degree of supersaturation.
La présente invention a trait à un système d'administration de médicaments, de préférence de forme annulaire, pour l'administration intra-vaginale, pour la libération simultanée d'un composé stéroïdien progestatif et d'un composé stéroïdien oestrogénique selon un rapport physiologique fixe sur une période prolongée. Le système d'administration de médicaments est formé d'au moins un compartiment composé d'un noyau en polymère thermoplastique contenant le mélange des composés progestatifs et oestrogénique et une enveloppe en polymère thermoplastique, le composé progestatif étant d'abord dissout dans le noyau de polymère dans un degré de sursaturation relativement faible.
