Use of a cationic polymer as active biocidal substance characterised in that no other active biocidal substances, in particular no quaternary ammonium salts, are used, in that the polymer is a polyethylene imine comprising at least 95 % by weight of units of formula CH2-CH2-N (I), in which N stands for a primary, secondary, tertiary or quaternary nitrogen atom, or a polyvinyl amine comprising at least 95 % by weight of ethylenically unsaturated, radically polymerisable compounds with a primary, secondary, tertiary or quaternary amino group in polymerised form, and in that the polymer contains 0.1 to 22 milliequivalent cationic groups per gram of polymer.
L'invention concerne l'utilisation d'un polymère cationique comme principe actif biocide. L'invention est caractérisée en ce qu'aucun autre principe actif biocide, notamment aucun sel d'ammonium quaternaire, n'est aussi utilisé, en ce que le polymère est une polyéthylène imine constituée à au moins 95 % en poids d'unités de formule -CH2-CH2-N (I) dans laquelle N représente un atome d'azote primaire, secondaire, tertiaire ou quaternaire, ou en ce que le polymère est une polyvinylamine constituée d'au moins 95 % en poids de composés éthyléniquement insaturés à polymérisation radicalaire comprenant un groupe amino primaire, secondaire, tertiaire ou quaternaire sous forme polymérisée et en ce que le polymère contient 0,1 à 22 milliéquivalents de groupes cationiques par gramme de polymère.
