Methods and compositions are provided for the persistent modification of cell membranes with exogenous proteins so as to alter the function of the cell to achieve effects similar to those of gene therapy, without the introduction of exogenous DNA. DNA sequences, the proteins and polypeptides embodying these sequences are disclosed for modulating the immune system. The modulations include down-regulation, up-regulation and apoptosis.
La présente invention concerne des méthodes et des compositions permettant de modifier de manière permanente les membranes cellulaires au moyen de protéines exogènes afin de modifier la fonction de ces cellules et obtenir ainsi des effets similaires à ceux de la thérapie génique, sans introduire d'ADN exogène. Par ailleurs, cette invention fait intervenir des séquences d'ADN, des protéines et des polypeptides qui contiennent ces séquences pour moduler le système immunitaire.
