The invention concerns a procedure for flame-cutting a slab using at least one oxyacetylene cutting torch at a workstation and a device for implementing this procedure. The slab and the oxyacetylene cutting torch are moved in relation to each other, with the slab arranged in a cutting position such that its primary plane lies at an angle of -10° to -20° with respect to the vertical plane.
