A current-steering method for a pair of transistors M1, M2 differentially coupled to a common current source I0. The transistors have outputs 11, 12 respectively. An input voltage V1 is offset to produce a second voltage V2. The gate of one the transistors is controllably driven by V1 while the gate of the other transistor is simultaneously driven by V2. V1-V2=.DELTA.V is substantially less than the circuit rail voltage. Substantially all of the current source current flows through the transistor driven by V1, with the residual remainder of the current source current flowing through the transistor driven by V2. The amplifier is a current mirror having an unbalanced current mirror ratio.
