This invention relates to a method for preventing the ignition of molten reactive metal by contacting the molten metal with a gaseous mixture comprising a fluorocarbon selected from the group consisting of perfluoroketones, hydrofluoroketones, and mixtures thereof.
Cette invention concerne un procédé de traitement d'un métal réactif en fusion destiné à empêcher ledit métal de réagir avec l'oxygène de l'air et de s'enflammer. Ce procédé consiste à mettre le métal en fusion en contact avec un mélange gazeux comprenant un fluorocarbure pris dans le groupe composé de perfluorocétones, d'hydrofluorocétones et de mélanges de ces substances.
