The present invention relates to novel matrix metalloproteinase (MMP) inhibitors and down-regulators, to pharmaceutical compositions comprising these inhibitors/down-regulators, to the improvement of liposome targeting to cancer cells, to the use of the novel MMP inhibitors for the manufacture of pharmaceutical and research preparations, to a method for inhibiting and down- regulating MMP-dependent conditions either in vivo or in vitro, to a method for inhibiting activations and/or functions as well catalytic and non- catalyt ic actions of matrix metalloproteinases, and to the use of the novel MMP inhibitors and down-regulators in biochemical isolation and purification procedures of matrix metalloproteinases.
L'invention porte sur de nouveaux inhibiteurs et régulateurs négatifs de la métalloprotéinase matricielle (MMP), sur des compositions pharmaceutiques comprenant lesdits inhibiteurs/régulateurs négatifs, sur l'amélioration du ciblage des cellules cancéreuses par les liposomes, sur l'utilisation des nouveaux inhibiteurs de MMP dans la fabrication de préparations pharmaceutiques et de recherche, sur un procédé d'inhibition et de régulation négative des états dépendant de la MMP in vivo ou in vitro, sur un procédé permettant d'inhiber les activations et/ou fonctions de même que les actions catalytiques et non catalytiques des métalloprotéinases matricielles, et sur l'utilisation des nouveaux inhibiteurs et régulateurs négatifs de la MMP dans les procédures d'isolement et de purification biochimiques des métalloprotéinases matricielles.
