The present disclosure provides a method for determining whether a mammalian subject belongs to a first or a second group, wherein subjects of the first group have a higher risk of having a testicular disorder than subjects of the second group, comprising the steps of: evaluating an amount of RBM3 protein in at least part of an earlier obtained sample comprising biological material from a testicle of said subject and determining a sample value corresponding to the evaluated amount; comparing said sample value with a predetermined reference value; and if said sample value is higher than said reference value, concluding that the subject belongs to the first group; and if said sample value is lower than or equal to said reference value, concluding that the subject belongs to the second group. Further, a prognostic method for testicular cancer is provided, as well as means and uses with prognostic and diagnostic applications.
La présente invention porte sur un procédé pour déterminer si un sujet mammifère appartient ou non à un premier ou à un second groupe, des sujets du premier groupe présentant un risque plus élevé de souffrir d'un trouble testiculaire par rapport aux sujets du second groupe. Ledit procédé consiste : à évaluer une quantité de protéine RBM3 dans au moins une partie d'un échantillon obtenu précédemment comportant un matériel biologique provenant d'un testicule dudit sujet et à déterminer une valeur d'échantillon correspondant à la quantité évaluée; à comparer ladite valeur d'échantillon avec une valeur de référence prédéterminée; et si ladite valeur d'échantillon est supérieure à ladite valeur de référence, à conclure que le sujet appartient au premier groupe, et si ladite valeur d'échantillon est inférieure ou égale à ladite valeur de référence, à conclure que le sujet appartient au second groupe. L'invention porte en outre sur un procédé de pronostic d'un cancer des testicules, ainsi que sur des moyens et des utilisations avec des applications pronostiques et diagnostiques.
