A protective struc- ture has at least one lin- ing element (2) on at least one of its sides. The lin ing element (2) has a sup- porting frame (3) to which are secured hollow bodies (4) open on at least one side, for example prefer- ably perforated tyre seg- ments. At least one suit- able material for cultivat- ing plants (10) is intro- duced into at least some of said hollow bodies (4). The lining elements (2) are supported by a support (6) which rests on the ground or is linked thereto. At least the material of which the support (6) is made contains at least one problematic material and in said bulk material are embedded connecting elements (8) which connect by tension at least one lining element (2) to the support (6) in at least the lower area of the support (6).
