A method for processing a financial transaction such as an electronic bill payment is provided. The method includes receiving an electronic bill payment wherein the bill payment is submitted on behalf of a consumer in response to a bill associated with a biller, determining using a computer system that the received electronic bill payment is an exception payment wherein the exception payment includes the electronic bill payment submitted by the consumer having consumer entered information not matching a criterion for accepting electronic payment required by the biller, creating an exception addenda record for the exception payment using data stored within a database wherein the addenda record identifies the consumer submitting the exception payment, and posting the exception payment to an appropriate consumer account for the biller based on the addenda record.
La présente invention concerne un procédé pour traiter une transaction financière, telle qu'un paiement de facture électronique. Le procédé passe par la réception d'un paiement de facture électronique, le paiement étant soumis au nom d'un consommateur en réponse à une facture associée à un auteur de facture, la détermination, à l'aide d'un système informatique, que le paiement de facture électronique reçu est un paiement exceptionnel, celui-ci comprenant le paiement de facture électronique soumis par le consommateur ayant saisi des informations ne correspondant pas à un critère pour accepter le paiement électronique requis par l'auteur de la facture, la création d'un enregistrement d'ajouts d'exceptions pour le paiement exceptionnel à l'aide des données stockées dans une base de données, l'enregistrement identifiant le consommateur soumettant le paiement exceptionnel, enfin la publication du paiement exceptionnel sur un compte consommateur approprié pour l'auteur de la facture en fonction de l'enregistrement des ajouts.
