A thin, flexible film which when applied to stained teeth is hydrated by saliva and is effective in such form to whiten teeth, the film comprising an anhydrous water hydratable ethylene oxide polymer matrix containing a solid peroxide whitening agent whereby upon application to stained tooth surfaces, the peroxide whitening agent is solublilized by saliva present in the oral cavity into active whitening activity when the film is positioned and placed on the teeth.

L'invention concerne un film mince et souple qui, lorsqu'on l'applique sur des dents tâchées, est hydraté par la salive, et devient efficace de sorte à blanchir les dents, ledit film comprenant une matrice polymère d'oxyde d'éthylène anhydre hydratable à l'eau, contenant un agent de blanchiment au peroxyde solide. Lors de l'application sur des surfaces dentaires tâchées, l'agent de blanchiment au peroxyde est solubilisé par la salive présente dans la cavité buccale, et s'active pour effectuer un blanchiment actif lorsque le film est positionné et placé sur les dents.
