Abstract A system and method is provided for replacing the functions of a facet joint between a superior vertebra and an inferior vertebra without necessarily requiring an anatomical implant. The method includes: providing one or more flexible posterior devices to replace main functions of the facet jointin that the flexible device applies a distracting force between the vertebra; and adapting a first one of the one or more posterior devices for a first attachment to a first pedicle, and a second attachment to a second pedicle. Further disclosed are devices comprising two posterior devices, one compression-resistant and one expansion-resistant.Also disclosed is a rod for a posterior spinal stabiliser comprising two elastic members, connected by a joint to replace the function of the facet joint.

La présente invention se rapporte à un système et à un procédé permettant de remplacer les fonctions d'une facette articulaire entre une vertèbre supérieure et une vertèbre inférieure sans obligatoirement avoir recours à un implant anatomique. Ledit procédé consiste à se doter d'un ou de plusieurs dispositifs postérieurs souples pour remplacer les fonctions principales de la facette articulaire, et à adapter un premier dispositif sélectionné parmi ce ou ces dispositifs postérieurs aux fins d'une première fixation à un premier pédicule et d'une seconde fixation à un second pédicule.
