A drawing instrument (20) for dividing angles into fractional components is disclosed. In the case of bisection, a simple slot (27) and equidistant points (21, 22, 23, 24) along a perpendicular bisector is disclosed. In the case of other fractions, for example trisection and quadrisection, shaped slots (33A, 34A, 35A, 33B, 34B, 35B) are provided so as to define the locus of the division point, with the point defined by scribing an arc intersecting the loci, and joining the intersection to the vertex of the angle. The instrument may also include additional features such as rulers (29, 31) protractors (28) and measured holes (30) for drawing circles and arcs.
L'invention concerne un instrument de dessin (2) servant à diviser des angles en différentes parties. Pour la réalisation d'une bissection, l'instrument selon l'invention comporte une simple rainure (27) et des points équidistants (21, 22, 23, 24) le long d'une bissectrice perpendiculaire. Pour la réalisation d'autres divisions, par exemple en trois et en quatre, l'instrument comporte des rainures (33A, 34A, 35A, 33B, 34B, 35B) de forme appropriée permettant de définir le lieu où se situe le point de division. Pour définir le point, on trace un arc coupant les lieux et on relie le point d'intersection avec le sommet de l'angle. L'instrument peut également comprendre d'autres éléments comme des règles, des rapporteurs et des trous calibrés pour tracer des cercles et des arcs.
