ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method for the positive and non-positive cold- joining of parts made of metal or plastic is described. At least one insert which is made of a harder material com- pared with the material of at least one of the parts is arranged between the parts and the parts are moved towards each other by the application of a working pressure, the insert penetrating into the material of at least one of the parts and being enclosed by the material so that the insert is anchored in the material. The method may be applied to the manufacture of, for example, cooking utensils, flat-iron soles, heating appliances pipe conduit systems, food cans, roof covers, conduit systems for coiling or heating media.
