A segment of a cutting means adapted for retention in a ground drill, said segment being one of a plurality of separate and identical segments which together comprise said cutting means, said segment comprising a cutting face for engaging and cutting the ground when said segment is seated in a cutting position in said ground drill, and a shank extending from said cutting face and having one side adopted for facing and bearing against an internal circumferential wall of said ground drill when in said cutting position, said side comprising a series of surfaces configured and juxtaposed so that said segment can slide relative to said ground drill when in said cutting position in response to said ground drill being lifted from and lowered onto the bottom of a hole being drilled by said ground drill.
La présente invention a pour objet un segment pour outil de coupe se prêtant à la fixation dans un outil de forage, le segment en question faisant partie d'une pluralité de segments distincts et identiques constituant l'outil de coupe en question, le segment en question présentant un bord d'attaque lorsque le segment en question est maintenu dans une position de coupe appropriée dans l'outil de forage, le bord d'attaque en question étant prolongé d'une tige comportant une face conçue pour épouser la circonférence interne de l'outil de forage en question lorsqu'en position de forage, la face en question comportant une série de surfaces dont la configuration et la juxtaposition permettent le coulissement relatif de l'outil de forage en question lorsqu'en position de forage en réponse à l'introduction et au retrait de l'outil de forage à l'intérieur d'un trou de forage creusé par l'outil de forage en question.
