The invention relates to a cotyle comprising a metallic insertion acetabular shell (1) having an outer, essentially hemispherical, convex anchoring face formed in such a way as to be anchored in a cotyloid cavity of the pelvis of a patient, and a concave receiving face (3). Said cotyle also comprises a fixed definitive articular ceramic insert (4) having an outer face (5) engaging in the concave receiving face (3) of the metallic insertion acetabular shell (1), and an inner receiving face (6) comprising a concave, essentially hemispherical, articular surface (7) for allowing the engagement and pivoting of a femoral prosthesis head or a mobile articular insert. The cotyle is packed in its assembled sterile state, with the definitive fixed articular ceramic insert (4) engaged in the metallic insertion acetabular shell (1) having a peripheral receiving structure (8) that can receive means for fixing an impacter (14) for positioning a cotyle and is designed in such a way that the impacter (15) can be fixed to the cotyle in the presence of the definitive fixed articular ceramic insert (4).
Le cotyle comprend : - une cupule d'insertion (1) métallique, ayant une face extérieure d'ancrage (2) convexe sensiblement hémisphérique conformée pour être ancrée dans une cavité cotyloïdienne du bassin d'un patient, et ayant une face de réception concave (3), - un insert articulaire (4) immobile définitif en céramique, ayant une face extérieure (5) s'engageant dans la face de réception concave (3) de la cupule d'insertion (1 ) métallique, et ayant une face intérieure réceptrice (6) comportant une surface articulaire concave (7) sensiblement hémisphérique pour permettre l'engagement et le pivotement d'une tête de prothèse fémorale ou d'un insert articulaire mobile. Le cotyle est conditionné assemblé à l'état stérile, avec l'insert articulaire (4) immobile définitif en céramique engagé dans la cupule d'insertion (1 ) métallique qui comprend une structure périphérique de réception (8) apte à recevoir des moyens de fixation d'un impacteur (15) de pose de cotyle et conformée de façon que l'impacteur (15) puisse être fixé au cotyle en présence de l'insert articulaire (4) immobile définitif en céramique.
