A process for producing a 1,2-benzisothiazole by the reaction of a 2- (alkylthio)benzaldehyde oxime with a halogen compound; a process for producing a 3-halo-1,2-benzisothiazole by the reaction of a 1,2-benzisothiazole with a halogenating agent; and a process for producing a 1-(1,2-benzisothiazol-3-yl)- piperazine by the reaction of the 3-halo-1,2-benzisothiazole thus obtained with a piperazine. It is possible according to these processes to produce 1,2- benzisothiazoles, 3-halo-1,2-benzisothiazoles and, further therefrom, 1-(1,2- benzisothiazol-3-yl)-piperazines, each being useful as intermediates for medicines such as remedies for mental illness, readily in high yields through shorter process steps without the necessity for using expensive starting materials.

L'invention concerne un procédé pour préparer un 1,2-benzisothiazole par la mise en réaction de l'oxime de 2-(alkylthio)benzaldéhyde avec un composé halogène; un procédé pour préparer un 3-halo-1,2-benzisothiazole par la mise en réaction d'un 1,2-benzisothiazole avec un agent d'halogénation; et un procédé pour préparer une 1-(1,2-benzisothiazol-3-yl)-pipérazine par la mise en réaction du 3-halo-1,2-benzisothiazole ainsi obtenu avec une pipérazine. Il est possible, avec ces procédés, de préparer des 1,2-benzisothiazoles et des 3-halo-1,2-benzisothiazoles et à partir de ceux-ci, des 1-(1,2-benzisothiazol-3-yl)-pipérazines, qui sont utiles comme intermédiaires pour des médicaments tels que des remèdes contre les maladies mentales. Ces dérivés peuvent être produits facilement, en grande quantité, en plusieurs phases plus courtes, sans qu'il soit nécessaire d'utiliser des matières premières coûteuses.
