A process to rejuvenate a spent sorbent to produce a rejuvenated sorbent is provided. This process comprises: (a) contacting a spent sorbent with a zinc composition that comprises zinc oxide, or a precursor to zinc oxide, to form a contacted composition; (b) drying said contacted composition at a temperature in the range of about 25 °C to about 375 °C for a time period in the range of about 1 minute to about 24 hours, to form a dried, contacted composition; and (c) calcining said dried, contacted composition at a temperature in the range of about 400°C to about 800°C for a time period in the range of about 1 minute to about 24 hours, to form said rejuvenated sorbent.
Méthode pour régénérer un sorbant usé afin d'obtenir un sorbant reconstitué. Cette méthode consiste à : a) amener en contact un sorbant usé avec une composition de zinc, renfermant un oxyde de zinc, ou un précurseur d'oxyde de zinc, de façon à former une composition de contact; b) faire sécher ladite composition de contact à une température se situant dans une plage d'environ 25-375 degrés C pendant environ 1 minute à environ 24 heures, de façon à former une composition de contact séchée; c) faire calciner ladite composition de contact séchée à une température se situant dans une plage d'environ 400-800 degrés C pendant environ 1 minute à environ 24 heures, de façon à obtenir le sorbant reconstitué.
