A peelable lid structure (1) particularly for use in the closing of food cans has a tab (3) which is folded over the centre panel (4) and secured in the folded position for processing of can contents and/or handling operations. As the tab (3) is secured, an inexpensive laminate structure which requires little or no aluminium content can be used. Methods of forming the peelable lid structure (1) include exposing a layer of heat sealable material and/or an adhesive layer so that the tab (3) can be folded over and adhered to this layer, for example by heat sealing.

Cette invention concerne une structure (1) d'opercule pelable utilisée en particulier pour la fermeture de boîtes alimentaires et comportant une languette (3) qui est repliée sur la partie centrale (4) et fixée en position repliée pour le traitement des contenus des boîtes et/ou les opérations de manipulation. On peut utiliser, pour la fixation de la languette (3), une structure laminée peut coûteuse nécessitant peu ou pas d'aluminium. Cette invention concerne également des procédés de fabrication de cette structure (1) d'opercule pelable consistant à exposer une couche de matériau thermoscellable et/ou une couche adhésive de façon que la languette (3) puisse être repliée et collée sur ladite couche, par exemple par thermoscellage.
