A process for producing intraocular lenses (IOLs) capable of absorbing blue light and ultraviolet light using photo curing. Intraocular lenses so produced block blue light and ultraviolet light from reaching the retina of an eye implanted with the IOL. By blocking blue light and ultraviolet light from reaching the retina, the IOL thereby prevents potential damage to the retina.

La présente invention concerne processus de production de lentilles intraoculaires (IOL) capables d'absorber la lumière bleue et la lumière ultraviolette via un photo-traitement. Des lentilles intraoculaires ainsi produites empêchent la lumière bleue et la lumière ultraviolette d'atteindre la rétine de l'oeil implanté avec cette lentille IOL. En empêchant la lumière bleue et la lumière ultraviolette d'atteindre la rétine, cette lentille IOL prévient une dégradation potentielle de la rétine.
