Injection devices are known for the self administration of medicament by patients, in which the medicament is typically contained within a cartridge located within the injection device. It is a problem that injection devices should be small enough to fit into a jacket pocket or a hand bag without difficulty. Also, the injection device must be of a size that enables a piston or the like used to drive the cartridge bung within the cartridge to be moved both to a maximum dispense position within the cartridge and to be fully withdrawn from the cartridge to allow for replacement of the cartridge. A drive mechanism for an injection device is disclosed in which a piston 42 comprises a first piston part 44 guided for linear movement to selectively drive a bung 18 and a second piston part 46 connected for pivoting movement with respect to the first piston part 44.
On connaît les dispositifs d'injection permettant au patient de s'auto-administrer un médicament, ce dernier étant contenu à l'intérieur d'une cartouche située à l'intérieur de ce dispositif d'injection . Ces dispositifs d'injection devraient présenter une dimension suffisamment limités pour tenir dans une poche de veste ou dans un sac à main sans difficulté. De ce fait, ce dispositif d'injection doit posséder une dimension permettant de déplacer un élément tel qu'un piston, utilisé pour entraîner le bouchon de la cartouche à l'intérieur de cette dernière, à la fois vers une position de distribution maximum à l'intérieur de la cartouche et vers une position de retrait total par rapport à la cartouche, de manière à pouvoir remplacer celle-ci. L'invention concerne un mécanisme de commande conçu pour un dispositif d'injection et constituée par un piston (42) comprenant une première partie (44) guidée afin d'effectuer un déplacement rectiligne permettant d'entraîner le bouchon (18) de façon sélective, et une deuxième partie (46) accouplée afin d'effectuer une rotation par rapport à la première partie (44).
