Abstract A load energized electronic test pencil including a main probe, an energy-storing circuit, a RC detection indicator, and two other probes. During voltage testing, the energy- storing circuit is charged and energized, thereafter behaves as a built-in power supply for the RC detection indicator. Incorporated with a conventional low impedance voltage- indicating circuit, it can further be composed into a multi- functional electronic test pencil which can perform voltage, resistance and capacitance testing without the need of a built-in power supply. This novel test pencil preserves the features of being simple-constructed, small-sized, inexpensive and pocketable as a conventional test pencil, yet it is more practical and advanced than the old type. It is an ideal appliance both for electricians and for household use. 13
