According to the disclosure, a system adapted to estimate and track a channel for wireless orthogonal frequency division modulation (OFDM) communication is disclosed. The system utilizes scattered pilot symbols being subject to channel conditions and estimates the channel value using the plurality of received pilot symbols and in accordance with correlation of the channel conditions over time. A Kalman filter is used for tracking the channel.
