Disclosed is a process for the manufacture of 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene comprising: (a) dehydrofluorinating 1,1,1,2,3-pentafluoropropane in the presence of a dehydrofluorination catalyst comprised of chromium (III) oxide, and alkali metal, to produce a product mixture comprising 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene and less than 20 parts per hundred 1,3,3,3-tetrafluoro-1-propene; and (b) recovering said 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene from the product mixture produced in (a).

La présente invention concerne un procédé de fabrication de 2,3,3,3-tétrafluoropropène consistant (a) à déshydrofluorer un 1,1,1,2,3-pentafluoropropane en présence, d'une part d'un catalyseur de déshydrofluoration constitué d'un oxyde de chrome (III), et d'autre part d'un métal alcalin, de façon à produire un mélange de produits comprenant du 2,3,3,3-tétrafluoropropène et moins de 20 parties pour cent de 1,3,3,3-tétrafluoro-1-propène, puis (b) à récupérer dans le mélange de produits issu de (a) ledit 2,3,3,3-tétrafluoropropène.
