There is provided a port sealing cartridge that allows for insertion of a catheter or other medical device into an endotracheal tube and thence the patient's lungs through an available access port. The port sealing cartridge has a primary and a secondary seal or collar that sequentially provide a pressure seal as a medical device is inserted through them and into the system. An optional tethered dust cover may also be used on the proximal end of the port seal cartridge. The port seal cartridge may desirably be fitted with a quick-connection so that it may be easily removed, disposed of and replaced. The port seal may be used for access to a patient's lungs with a bronchoalveolar catheter, bronchoscope or other medical device for treatment or sampling of the respiratory tract.
L'invention porte sur une cartouche détanchéité d'un orifice permettant l'introduction d'un cathéter ou autre dispositif médical dans un tube endotrachéal et par conséquent dans les poumons du patient par un orifice d'accès disponible. La cartouche détanchéité d'orifice comporte un joint primaire et un joint secondaire ou collier qui fournissent séquentiellement une traversée étanche à mesure qu'on introduit un dispositif médical par ceux-ci et dans le système. Il est également possible dutiliser un capot anti-poussière facultatif accroché sur l'extrémité proximale de la cartouche détanchéité d'orifice. Il est possible dadapter avantageusement la cartouche détanchéité d'orifice à un raccord rapide de façon à pouvoir facilement la retirer, la jeter et la remplacer. Il est possible d'utiliser le joint d'orifice pour accéder aux poumons d'un patient à laide dun cathéter broncho-alvéolaire, un bronchoscope ou autre dispositif médical pour le traitement ou l'échantillonnage des voies respiratoires.
