An enhanced barb on a mounting bridge for use in an electrical receptacle includes an upright tab and a plurality of teeth. The upright tab is mounted to a mounting bridge of the electrical receptacle. The upright tab has opposite side edges and opposite inward and outward facing side surfaces in relation to the mounting bridge. The teeth are formed on the upright tab and project outwardly from the opposite side edges and the outward facing side surface of the upright tab and in three orthogonal directions such that the teeth engage three sides of a slot of a receptacle tab of the electrical receptacle.
