ABSTRACT A method and device for preventing the liquefaction of compressed gas in a container are provided. The device of the present invention includes a housing attachable to an existing compressed gas tank and containing a heating coil to provide heat to the tank, thereby preventing liquefaction of the gas within the tank. The supply of current to the heating coil is controlled by known means such as a thermostat or a fixed snap switch. Flexible bands can be wrapped round the tank and the housing to secure the housing to the tank in a manner that makes the present device easy to retrofit to previously installed tanks.
