The invention relates to a method for regenerating a reformer to which fuel (12, 14) and an oxidant (16, 18, 20) are continuously fed, the feed rate of the fuel (12, 14) being reduced for the purpose of regeneration as compared to the feed rate in the continuous operation. According to the invention, the feed rate of the fuel (12, 14) is reduced during a plurality of subsequent intervals as compared to the feed rate in the continuous operation. The feed rate of the fuel (12, 14) between the subsequent intervals is higher than during the subsequent intervals. The invention also relates to a corresponding reformer.

L'invention concerne un procédé servant à régénérer un reformeur auquel est amené en mode de fonctionnement continu du combustible (12, 14) et un oxydant (16, 18, 20), le taux d'amenée du combustible (12, 14) étant réduit aux fins de la régénération par rapport au taux d'amenée en mode de fonctionnement continu. Selon l'invention, le taux d'amenée du combustible (12, 14) pendant plusieurs intervalles de temps successifs est réduit par rapport au taux d'amenée en mode de fonctionnement continu et le taux d'amenée du combustible (12, 14) entre les intervalles de temps successifs est plus grand que pendant les intervalles de temps successifs. L'invention concerne également un reformeur.
