The invention provides iodinated bis phenyl compounds, useful as X-ray contrast agents, of formula (I) (wherein each C6R5 moiety may be the same or different; each R denotes a hydrogen or iodine atom or a group M, two or three non-adjacent R groups on each C6R5 moiety denoting iodine atoms and one, two or three R groups on each C6R5 moiety denoting M groups; X denotes a group providing a 1, 2 or 3 atom chain linking the two C6R5 groups, preferably where X is or contains in the bridging chain a carbonyloxy group each C6R5 group being a triodophenyl group or a group in which each R is other than hydrogen; and each M is independently a non-ionic hydrophilic moiety, M preferably being a non-ionic hydrophilic moiety comprising a monohydroxy- or polyhydroxy-alkyl group) and isomers, especially stereoisomers and rotamers, thereof.
La présente invention concerne des composés diphényle iodés utilisés comme agents de contraste en radiographie, ayant la formule (I) dans laquelle les fractions C¿6?R¿5? peuvent être identiques ou différentes; chaque R désigne un atome d'hydrogène ou d'iode ou un groupe M, deux ou trois groupes R non adjacents sur chaque fraction C¿6?R¿5? désignant des atomes d'iode et un, deux ou trois groupe R sur chaque fraction C¿6?R¿5? désignant des groupes M; X désigne un groupe fournissant une chaîne de 1, 2 ou 3 atomes reliant les deux groupes C¿6?R¿5?; de préférence, X est ou contient dans la chaîne de pontage un groupe carbonyloxy, chaque groupe C¿6?R¿5? étant un groupe triodophényle ou un groupe dans lequel chaque R est autre que l'hydrogène; et chaque M est indépendamment une fraction hydrophile non ionique, M étant de préférence une fraction hydrophile non ionique comportant un groupe monohydroxy-alkyle ou polyhydroxy-alkyle. L'invention concerne également des isomères de ces composés, et en particulier des stéréroisomères et des rotamères.
