Abstract Corrosion of process equipment in a system for extraction of aromatic components from nonaromatic components by means of a selective solvent, for example tetraethylene glycol, is reduced by treating with anion exchange resin a stream composed mainly of water which has been used to wash residual solvent from the extracted aromatics.
