What is disclosed is a foil comprising optically refractive pyramidal elements, which each have a triangular base. The bases of adjacent elements are turned 180 degrees relative to each other. It has been found that such a foil has optically refractive characteristics upon incidence of electromagnetic waves thereon, which characteristics render the foil suitable for imparting a desired pattern, possibly in a desired direction, to the exiting waves. The pattern may be a uniform pattern, for example, so as to impart a uniform or diffuse light distribution to electromagnetic waves, for example visible light, from a concentrated light source.
L'invention concerne un feuillard comprenant des éléments pyramidaux de réfraction optique possédant chacun une base triangulaire. Les bases des éléments contigus sont tournées à 180· les unes par rapport aux autres. On a découvert que ce type de feuillard possède des caractéristiques de réfraction optique au moment de l'incidence de l'impact d'ondes électromagnétiques, ces caractéristiques permettant au feuillard de conférer une configuration désirée, éventuellement dans un sens souhaité, aux ondes de sortie. Cette configuration peut être uniforme, par exemple, de façon à conférer une distribution de lumière uniforme ou diffuse à ces ondes électromagnétiques, par exemple de la lumière visible, depuis une source de lumière concentrée.
