A system for scanning a cytological specimen carried by a slide, wherein movement or positioning of a motorized stage of an automated screening system may be controlled manually by a user such that the user controls movement, e.g., controlling speed, position, and/or timing, of the motorized stage along a first scan line to controllably scan a first portion of the specimen along the scan line. The user may then index the motorized stage from the first scan line to the next scan line and manually control movement of the stage along the second scan line to controllably scan another portion of the specimen. Stage indexing may also be automatic such that the user does not control or initiate indexing.
L'invention concerne un système pour balayer un spécimen cytologique supporté par un porte-objet. Le mouvement ou le positionnement d'un étage motorisé d'un système de criblage automatisé peut être commandé manuellement par un utilisateur de sorte que l'utilisateur commande le mouvement, par exemple, par la commande de la vitesse, de la position et/ou de la synchronisation de l'étage motorisé le long d'une première ligne de balayage pour balayer de manière contrôlable une première partie du spécimen le long de la ligne de balayage. L'utilisateur peut ensuite indexer l'étage motorisé de la première ligne de balayage vers la ligne de balayage suivante et commander manuellement le mouvement de l'étage le long de la deuxième ligne de balayage pour balayer de manière contrôlable une autre partie du spécimen.
