The invention relates to a granular automatic dishwashing detergent composition with a density above 0.9 g/cm3, the composition comprising from 0.1 to 20 wt% of a polymer dispersant, such as a polyacrylate, from 5 to 80 wt% of carbonate salts, from 0 to 20 wt% of phosphated builders, the composition being free of bicarbonate.
