A method of inducing anesthesia, hypothermia, and analgesia, and a method of treating stress and hypothermia by administering an amount of adenosine or adenine nucleotides to a patient in need of anesthesia or requiring induction of, or relief from, hypothermia. It also provides a method for preserving donor organs in vivo by contacting them with adenosine or adenine nucleotides as well as a method for preparing organ recipients for transplant.

En outre, l'invention porte sur une méthode de préservation in vivo des organes donnés en les faisant entrer en contact avec de l'adénosine ou des nucléotides d'adénine et sur une méthode de préparation des receveurs d'organes pour transplantation.
