A mortar removing accessory for use with a power tool adapted to impart a reciprocating motion, the accessory having a chisel assembly connected to the reciprocating portion of the power tool, a housing extending about the chisel assembly and having guide means for guiding the reciprocating chisel assembly in a direction different from the direction of movement of the reciprocating means. This permits a defective chiseling action to be imparted to the chisel.
