A self-contained device for generating high-pressure breathing oxygen, comprising a chemical agglomerate (3) for generating oxygen, a sealed containment chamber consisting of a body (1) and a cover (2) and containing the agglomerate, agglomerate igniting means, means for striking the ignition material and means for filtering the oxygen thus generated. The igniting means consist of a compressed mixture of titanium and boron, and the filtering means consist of a mixture of lime or soda lime and a molecular sieve and are distributed and fixed around the agglomerate, as well as in a cartridge comprising a generated oxygen outlet seal. The device is suitable for generating oxygen for medical or paramedical, aeronautical and military use.

L'invention concerne un dispositif de génération autonome d'oxygène respirable à haute pression du type comportant une chandelle chimique de génération d'oxygène (3), une enceinte de confinement étanche composée d'un corps (1) et d'un couvercle (2) dans laquelle est logée la chandelle, des moyens d'amorçage de la chandelle, des moyens de percussion de l'amorce et des moyens de filtration de l'oxygène produit, caractérisé en ce que les moyens d'amorçage sont constitués par un mélange comprimé de titane et de bore, et en ce que les moyens de filtration sont constitués par un mélange de chaux sodée ou non et de tamis moléculaire et sont répartis, d'une part, en calage autour de la chandelle et, d'autre part, dans une cartouche comportant un opercule de sortie de l'oxygène produit. Application à la génération d'oxygène dans le domaine médical ou paramédical, le domaine aéronautique et le domaine militaire.
