An adjustable header assembly is adapted to carry removable signage and can be secured to a shelf or other support structure within a commercial establishment, such as a "big box store". The header assembly includes a frame and suitable brackets for removable securement to the support structure. Each bracket has a vertically extending slot for reception of a pin and guide wheel carried at each end of the frame. At its lower end, each slot has an S-shape defining a labyrinthine path for a pin carried by the frame towards the lower end thereof. The pin is moved along the path to a locking notch which receives the pin and holds the frame in its raised condition. The pins are drawn in a reverse direction to free them from the slots and to permit the frame to be lowered, so as to provide access to goods carried by the shelf behind the raised signage, and to facilitate the changing or modification of the signage carried by the frame.
