The present invention is directed to a golf ball comprising a dual core component, an inner cover layer and an outer cover layer. The dual core comprises an interior spherical center component formed from a thermoset material, a thermoplastic material, or combinations thereof. The dual core also comprises a core layer disposed about the center component, formed from a thermoset material, a thermoplastic material, or combinations thereof. The one or more polyurethane layers are preferably formed via a reaction injection molding (RIM) technique. The inner cover layer is relatively soft and preferably comprises an ionomer or ionomer blend. The outer cover layer is relatively hard and comprises a hard polyurethane. The resulting multi-layered golf ball of the present invention provides for enhanced distance without sacrificing playability or durability when compared to known multi-layer golf balls.
L'invention porte sur une balle de golf comprenant un double noyau, une couche de revêtement interne et une couche de revêtement externe. Le double noyau comporte un composant central sphérique interne obtenu à partir d'une matière thermodurcie, d'une matière thermoplastique ou de la combinaison des deux. Le noyau double comporte également une couche de noyau disposé autour du composant central obtenue à partir d'une matière thermodurcie, d'une matière thermoplastique ou de la combinaison des deux. Les couches de polyuréthanne sont obtenues de préférence par une technique de moulage par injection et réaction (RIM). La couche de revêtement interne est relativement molle et renferme de préférence un ionomère ou un mélange ionomère. Quant à la couche de revêtement externe, elle est relativement dure et renferme un polyuréthanne dur. La balle de golf multicouche obtenue de cette invention parcourt une plus grande distance sans pour autant sacrifier le plaisir du jeu ou sa durée par rapport aux balles de golf multicouche connues à ce jour.
