This invention is a breathable disposable absorbent article (20) which is substantially flat prior to use for wearing adjacent a body discharge area having a longitudinal centerline (O-O), and a lateral centerline (A-A) orthogonal thereto, and defining longitudinal and lateral directions respectively. The disposable absorbent article (20) includes a liquid pervious top sheet (24), a back sheet (26) joined to said top sheet, and an absorbent core (28) intermediate the back sheet and the top sheet. The absorbent core (28) includes a member (46) for expanding the article into a tridimensional structure while being worn by a user. The member (46) is activated by body fluids. The absorbent article includes a back sheet (26) that is water vapor permeable, preferably air permeable. The absorbent article can optionally include an odor control material (60) including one or more odor control agents in order to minimize odor caused by body fluids.
Cette invention concerne un article absorbant respirant (20) à jeter, sensiblement plat avant usage, devant être porté à proximité d'une surface d'écoulement de fluides biologiques. L'invention présente deux axes perpendiculaires: un axe longitudinal (O-O) et un axe transversal (A-A). Cet article absorbant respirant (20) à usage unique est constitué d'une pièce assemblée comportant une couche supérieure (24), une couche inférieure (26) et, entre les deux, une couche intermédiaire absorbante (28). La couche intermédiaire absorbante (28) est composée d'un élément (46) qui, à l'usage, dilate l'article et lui confère une structure tridimentionnelle. L'élément (46) est activé par les fluides biologiques. L'article absorbant comporte une couche inférieure (26) perméable à la vapeur d'eau et, de préférence, à l'air; il peut éventuellement être muni d'un dispositif de neutralisation des odeurs (60) comprenant un ou plusieurs agents inodorisants pour réduire au minimum l'odeur des fluides biologiques.
