One aspect of the present invention is a method of making a semiconductor laser optical waveguide telecommunications module (22) which includes providing a semiconductor laser (24), a housing (26), and a oxidizing atmosphere, such that the oxidizing atmosphere is in contact with the semiconductor laser (24) and contained by the housing (26). In another aspect, the invention includes a semiconductor laser optical waveguide telecommunications module (22) that includes a semiconductor laser (24), a housing (26) for enclosing the semiconductor laser (24) and an O2-free oxidizing atmosphere in contact with the semiconductor laser (24) and contained by the housing (26).

Un aspect de la présente invention concerne un procédé de fabrication d'un module de télécommunication à guide d'onde optique laser semiconducteur, qui consiste à prendre un laser semiconducteur, une enveloppe, et une atmosphère oxydante, de sorte que cette atmosphère oxydante soit en contact avec le laser semiconducteur et enfermée dans l'enveloppe.
